A card arrived the other day from my goddaughter, bearing wishes for the Chinese New Year. It was in the shape of a cat's face, done in pastels with gold accents; the cat's ears poked above the crease in the paper. Because I was on the lookout for inspiration for Valentine's day cards, her card sent me running to my stamp collection. And to the art supply store for an X-ACTO knife.
